TYPE OF EVENT2010 Cycle Tour Seeding Event (121km) EVENT INFORMATIONThe 121km route is a seeding event for the 2010 Cape Argus/Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour over a fast, undulating course. Great infrastructure, a unique medal concept and a breakfast goodie bag adds to the event’s popularity. Standard PPA funride fees do NOT apply to this event. Cyclists must enter before or on 3 Feb 2009 for a lower entry fee. After 3 Feb, entries will be possible online if there is space. Seeding cut off is Feb 9, but cyclists pay the late entry fee, again this applies if there is space. So if you want to be sure you are in the race and that you are considered for seeding, you should enter before 3 Feb 2009. Cyclists who enter after 9 Feb will start at the back. After that you can enter online on a space available basis until 9 February 2009 (AFTER 9 FEB YOU MUST REGISTER AT EVENT- ON A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS) NUMBER COLLECTION VENUESThursday, 12 February 2009 at Cycle Lab Northgate Island from 16:00 till 19:00; Friday, 13 February 2009 at El Shaddai Christian School from 16:00 till 19:00; Saturday, 14 February 2009 at El Shaddai Christian School from 05:00 till 07:30 ROUTE DESCRIPTIONFrom Durbanville, all four routes head out along Wellington Road with a right turn onto the R312 towards Fisantekraal. The two longer routes continue over the R304/R312 four-way stop towards Paarl. Turn left onto the R44 and left again onto the first Voorpaardeberg Road at the Windmeul Winery past the Boland Agricultural College. The 121km route then turns right onto the Paardeberg Prison Road, left at the R45 T-junction towards Malmesbury and left again in Malmesbury. The 77km route joins up with the long route at the R302. Both routes turn right at the silos and continue to the finish in Wellington Road. The two shorter routes head out onto the R312 where the 20km does an about-turn to the finish on Wellington Road, while the 39km route follows the familiar loop past the silos. DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUEFrom Cape Town, take the N1 towards Paarl and take the Durbanville/Tygervalley off-ramp. Turn left onto Willie van Schoor Drive and continue past Tygervalley Centre towards central Durbanville. After entering the central part of Durbanville, turn right onto Wellington Road (R302), continue past Medi-Clinic on your left and follow the parking signs to the right at the traffic lights where Langeberg Road crosses Wellington Road. ly)
